Cadet Bhreagh Rowe | An Affirming Weekend in Kitchener
Daniel and I had the great opportunity to spend a weekend at Kitchener Community Church, in Ontario. Even though our time in Kitchener was short, the 48 hours we were away was encouraging, refreshing and affirmed our call to Officership.
We arrived in Kitchener at noon on Saturday and met with Majors Brian and Deborah Coles who showed us around their beautiful community. We were able to have a quick but very informative view of the Kitchener ministries. We had a great supper with candidates for Training College and a fun evening of games, food and fellowship with the corps people.
Sunday morning was a wonderful experience as we walked through the doors and were greeted by a very welcoming congregation. We spent time with the children teaching them the importance of being courageous followers of God and then moved to the morning worship where Daniel preached on letting down our nets. The service was obviously led by the Holy Spirit who not only touched the congregation of Kitchener but gently reminded me of the great privilege I have been given to share God’s love. God knows just what we need and He knows right when we need it. A weekend away in Kitchener was exactly what I needed to be reminded of the exciting future God has in store for me.
