Cadets Yves Bolduc & Vivian Mag-aso | Winter Assignment | Sudbury Community Church
“A third time the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening”. (1 Samuel 3:8-9).
We are here at CFOT because of a call from God. One night Vivian heard God calling her to serve Him through the Salvation Army.
We are now done our first semester at CFOT and we are at our first winter assignment, in Sudbury. We are so grateful to God for giving us this opportunity to see the generosity of Sudbury’s people and to be a part of the Sudbury Salvation Army Family Services team to give hope and joy to families in Sudbury.
We were part of events like the “TD Toy Bank” at A&W to where the Salvation Army received more than 8000 toys and the “TD Teddy Bear Toss” at a Wolves Hockey Game where around 1500 teddy bears were collected for The Salvation Army to distribute to the families. We were part of the team that distributed toys and hampers of turkey and food for Christmas Dinner to over 750 families.
What a blessing to have the privilege to see the joy in the faces of parents who chose toys and teddy bears to give to their children, along with the possibility of having a good meal for Christmas.
Thank God for this privilege to serve You!
Hebrew 4:7 says: “God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
Say YES to God today!
